Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
TheyreMine (theyremine.com) is a personal productivity tool — combining a bookmark manager, a personal address book and a feed reader — operated as a personal project. Contact: info@theyremine.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: when you register, we store your email address and a hashed password. Your plain-text password is never stored.
- Bookmark data: folders, bookmarks, sub-bookmarks, page titles, and related settings you create are stored in our database and are private by default. You may choose to publish individual pages publicly; a published page's address is then listed in our site map and sent to search engines (through IndexNow) so they can find it.
- Contact data: names, companies, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, birthdays, websites, and notes you enter in the Contacts section are stored in our database. This data is always private — it is never published, shared, or made accessible to other users or third parties.
- Feed data: the addresses of the feeds you subscribe to, the categories you create, and which items you have read or starred are stored in our database and are private. Our server fetches each feed from its publisher on your behalf, so the publisher sees our server's address, not yours. Feed items are deleted automatically 30 days after publication. An OPML file you import is read to create your subscriptions and is not retained.
- Imported contact files: when you import a vCard (.vcf) or CSV file, its contents are processed on our server to create contact records. The original file is not retained after processing.
- Usage data: Google Analytics collects anonymised data about page visits (pages viewed, session duration, device type). In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device unless you agree in the consent message shown on your first visit. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google Analytics. Google Analytics and advertising are never loaded on the Contacts and Profile pages, nor on the pages reached from password-reset and e-mail confirmation links.
- Visit counts: our server counts page views per day and per section of the site, and the number of different visitors per day. A visitor is recognised for one day only, by a one-way code computed from the IP address, the browser and a secret that changes daily; the codes are deleted the next day. No cookie is used for this and no IP address or other personal data is stored.
- Cookies: we use a session cookie to keep you logged in. It ends when you close the browser, or, if you tick Keep me signed in, after 30 days without a visit. Google's analytics and advertising cookies are described below. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice first; you can change it at any time with Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
3. Google AdSense & advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised ads are shown only if you agree in the consent message; otherwise Google may show non-personalised ads. Everywhere, you may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
4. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the bookmark manager, address book and feed reader services
- To authenticate you when you log in
- To display your bookmarks publicly if you choose to publish a page
- To allow you to export your contact data as vCard files
- To improve the service through aggregated, anonymised analytics
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
5. Contact data & privacy
The contact data you store in TheyreMine — including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses of other people — is sensitive personal information. We treat it accordingly:
- Contact data is stored only in your private account and is never visible to other users.
- Contact data is never used for advertising targeting or analytics profiling.
- Contact data is never shared with third parties, including Google Analytics or AdSense.
- You can export any contact as a vCard file at any time and delete contacts individually or your entire account (Profile → Delete account).
- The Contacts page loads no analytics or advertising code.
You are responsible for ensuring that storing third-party personal data in TheyreMine complies with any applicable privacy obligations you may have (e.g. GDPR where relevant).
6. Data retention
Your account data, bookmarks, contacts and feeds are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time under Profile → Delete account, or by emailing info@theyremine.com. Deletion removes your account, all pages, folders, bookmarks, contact groups, contacts, feeds and feed categories permanently.
7. Third-party services
This site uses the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics — website analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google AdSense — advertising (Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from sites that use its services)
Neither service receives your bookmark or contact data.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR or similar laws, including the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@theyremine.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
